Engineer Nasser Al Nasser, Chief Operating Officer at Mobily hands over the company’s donation to the Governor of Riyadh Region in the presence of Humoud Al Ghobaini, Executive General Manager, Corporate Communications & Public Relations, and Dr. Mohammad Jaber Al Yamani, Chairman of the Anti – Smoking Society.

IN presence of Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh region, the Honorary President of the Saudi Anti- Smoking Society (Naqa), Mobily presented SR1 million as financial support to the society.

Engineer Nasser Al Nasser, Chief Operating Officer at Mobily handed over the company’s donation to the Governor of Riyadh Region in the presence of Humoud Al Ghobaini, Executive General Manager, Corporate Communications & Public Relations, and Dr. Mohammad Jaber Al Yamani, Chairman of the Anti – Smoking Society. The event took place in the governor’s office in Riyadh.

Al -Nasser said Mobily is part of the society and its interaction with the various charity associations is a duty falls under the social responsibility where Mobily pays a special attention to this aspect.

He pointed out that our support to “Naqa” society comes as a contribution to convey its sublime message that seeks to raise awareness towards the dangers of smoking and its impact on the health and economy of the society.

Al Nasser confirmed that Mobily will continue supporting all acts of charity that would benefit all segments of society, and this is not restricted to financial support, but the company will harness all its human and technical capabilities to turn its initiative into a strong motive for the private sector to move on towards this direction.

Mobily has launched earlier a number of services contributing to the prevention and awareness towards the damages caused by smoking through a service called (Mobily – Naqa ) 50 percent of the revenues were allocated for the benefit of the “Naqa”.

Mobily-Naqa service is based on a variety of directives to help smoker quit smoking through SMSs that reach the subscribers via three main channels namely: prevention, awareness and treatment.

They can subscribe to each of the channels by sending (1, 2 and 3) respectively to the 606 080 at a cost of 40 halalas per day. Mobily also provides the possibility of gifting this service to friends and family members to help them quit smoking by sending the icons (d 1 or d 2 or d 3 ) followed by the mobile number of the gifted person to the service number.

As Mobily realizes the threat of this disease and to achieve its social responsibility towards the society and its employees (Mobily family), it enabled all its employees to participate in this service free of charge.

Mobily has made many social initiatives by allocating annual funds with the aim of supporting charity associations that contribute to the development of society, especially those that have specific programs with specific goals. Mobily also shared in sponsoring several activities and programs organized by charity associations.
