‘Value-based education is the need of the hour’

The upcoming generation has to face greater number of challenges to compete with modern society.

“In such a scenario, imparting value-based education is vital to overcome such challenges,” said Shaukat Perwez, principal, International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR).

He was speaking while inaugurating a session on effective parenting and family health organized by Islamic Cultural Foundation of India (ICF).

Parents should not enforce their wishes and choices on children. “Instead, they should mentor and guide them to choose and build the career of their choice,” he said.

Abdussalam Omar from King Saud University, also an alumnus of Jamia Markaz in Kerala, delivered a keynote address on Islamic and scientific aspects of positive parenting.
Audiovisual-based interactive infotainment session attracted hundreds of parents from various schools in and around Riyadh.

An informative brochure on coronavirus was also distributed among the attendees.
The session began with the recitation of Qur’anic verses by Zulfiqar Naeemi. Pravasi Bharathiya Samman-winner Shihab Kottukad and Shaukat Perwez were felicitated by Abdussalam Omar.

Jaleel Vadakara welcomed the guests and invitees and Faisal Mampad expressed a vote of thanks. Abdussalam Vadakara, Ihtesham Talassery, Basheer Master and Luqman Pazhur were among the key organizers of the mega event.
