A 16-year-old teenager was killed reportedly by a gunshot in Al-Baha city.

Media spokesman of Al-Baha Police Department, Col. Saad Saleh Tarad, confirmed that the police department has received a phone call from Al-Hajra hospital on Monday morning saying that a16-year-old unmarried girl was killed by a gunshot.

“Upon receipt of the communiqué, security authorities were dispatched to the hospital to oversee the forensic investigation of the body by a medical examiner,” he said.

“It was identified that the bullet entered under her chin, and was lodged in the skull.”
Col. Tarad said preliminary investigations with the girl’s family indicated that the girl was suffering from mental illness.

They said she had attempted to harm herself in the past, and confirmed she had committed suicide by shooting herself, he said.
