A Saudi student has been honored by Glasgow University in Scotland for excelling at criminology studies.

Ibrahim Mufti Al-Inazi, who is studying for a master’s degree in toxicology, was awarded the honor after doing a diploma course in criminology during his spare time, local media reported. Al-Inazi said that he had taken up the course because he wanted to gain greater skills in his area of specialization.

He said Gail Cooper, an expert in the field, had told him to enroll in the course, which was held during the evenings and targeted physicians, lawyers and students interested in medical criminology. Experts from Scotland and England gave lectures, he said. The lectures covered a variety of topics including how to detect crime, legal aspects of crimes and related issues.

Al-Inazi’s passion and enthusiasm has now paved the way for scientific cooperation between the department of toxicology at the Saudi Ministry of Health and the University of Glasgow. A delegation from the ministry will sign the deal with the university in September.
