MUMBAI — Small screen’s hugely popular comedy show “Comedy Nights With Kapil” will go off air in September temporarily.

The protagonist of the show, Comedian Kapil Sharma, confirmed the news on Twitter after rumors of show going off air surfaced.

Sharma tweeted: “Comedy nights is going off air from september.. V will come back with new characters n new set.. Till den.. Keep smiling 🙂 (sic)”

Sharma will be working on his first full-fledged movie “Bank Chor” with Yash Raj Films. Thus, handling shooting and doing comedy on TV could not go hand in hand for Sharma, after which it was decided between the comedian and channel that the show would resume after a short break.

The show features other renowned comedy artists like Ali Asgar and Kiku Sharda among others.
