Seminar on managing for development results set

On the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) this week, a seminar will be organized by the coordination group institutions on managing for development results, on Tuesday (June 24) at the Jeddah Hilton.
The seminar will discuss ways for enhancing effectiveness of development assistance from the perspective of both providers and recipients and will be attended by the international development financing institutions, including the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and its member countries like Japan, the Netherlands and Mexico, and recipient countries of development assistance.
It will also deliberate on the key principles of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) agreed upon in Busan and re-enforced in Mexico in April 2014.
Ten institutions of the coordination group will take stock of the outcome of the Mexico High-Level Meeting (HLM) and discuss strategies and plans for moving forward on effective development cooperation agenda.
The seminar will also showcase development assistance coordinated and delivered at the country level by the coordination group institutions by applying principles of the effective development cooperation.
The seminar will be organized in four sessions. In the inaugural session, heads of the coordination group institutions and guest speakers will highlight the importance of key principles of the global partnership for effective development cooperation and will present their institutional/country perspective.
The second session will highlight the strategies of the coordination group institutions with regards to the realization of the relevant GPEDC principles and outcomes of the Mexico HLM.
The third session will share successful country experiences by the IDB member countries in effectively managing country development results. The fourth Session will present success stories of development projects with high impact.
