Police arrested a man who had plans to murder his brother, Tabuk police said in a statement on Thursday.
It said the police were tipped off by an unidentified caller in Tabuk about the citizen’s intention to kill his brother over a financial dispute. The man was arrested with a meat cleaver and a gun in his procession.
Col. Khalid Al-Ghaban, Tabuk police spokesman, said the city police coordinated with the highway patrol who managed to stop and arrest the man before he could make it to his final destination.
“The criminal has been arrested and interrogated at the Al-Talaah police station. He was found carrying a cleaver and a gun and the investigations are ongoing,” said Al-Ghaban.
In a separate case, a 44-year old Saudi was arrested for robbing a woman who was withdrawing cash from an ATM, Al-Ghaban said, adding that Saudi works as a deliveryman and was chased by the police after the woman has given the description of his vehicle he was driving when he committed the crime.
Moreover, Al-Ghaban said Al-Bidaa police have managed to arrest a suspect who had committed several burglaries including stealing a pistol, jewelries, a cell phone and a camera, adding that the suspect’s movement had been under police watch before he was finally brought to justice.
The thief admitted his crime and led the police to the jewelry shop where he used to market the stolen items, the police said, adding that his accomplices were also arrested.
