A Syrian has been caught by Haia members for using black magic to financially blackmail scores of women.

The man was caught in a district located in western Riyadh as he tried to meet up with one of these women, electronic newspaper sabq.org reported. The women then informed the Commission For the Promotion of Virtue And Prevention of Vice that the man had tried to blackmail her.

She also said he had cast a spell on her and four other girls to lure them into his trap. The man was also said to have had similar relations with 35 other women via SMS and phone.

One girl had told the commission that she met the man, who claimed he was a Saudi, over the Internet. The man told her he wanted to marry her but he had financial problems.

The victim lent him money. The man got angry when she married another man and eventually admitted he was Syrian and blackmailed her with her photos. He then also hold of her ATM card and began withdrawing her salary.

The man also forced the woman into drinking a certain type of coffee and performing certain “magic” acts at home, in addition to giving him some of her husband’s belongings for his spell to keep them apart.

Some eight magic deeds were uncovered following the man’s arrest. Investigators found the man had relations with 40 girls, of whom he successfully exploited five using black magic for extortion, the paper said.
