Qari Jalandhari in KSA to receive award
Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, the secretary general of the Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia that runs at least 12,000 madrassahs in Pakistan has arrived in the Kingdom to receive award for producing the most huffaz of Qur’an in the world in the year 2013-2014
Jalandhari who is here at the invitation of the Muslim World League will receive the award from Abdullah Basfar, the secretary general, International Organization for Qur’an Memorization (IOQM), at its annual conference on July 27, which will be graced by the presence of the Makkah governor.
During his stay in the Kingdom Qari Jalandhari is expected to meet Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki, secretary general, MWL as well as the vice chancellors of the Ummul Qura University and the Jamiya Islamia, Madinah.
While praising Custodian of the Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his services to the two holy cities, Qari Jalandhari in a meeting with scholars here, said: “The two holy cities are the centers of Islam.” He said Saudi Arabia deserves to be the leader of the Muslim world.
Located in Multan in west Pakistan, Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia is the largest federation of Islamic seminaries in the world. Some 12,000 madrassahs and about 8,000 Iqra schools across Pakistan are affiliated with the federation.
