SCE secretary-general lauds Filipino engineers
Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Secretary-General Ghazssi Al-Abassi recently lauded Filipino engineers and architects for playing an active role in updating themselves on the latest developments in their profession.
“They hold seminars and conventions monthly, which makes them more effective in their participation in the Kingdom’s development,” Al-Abassi told the fourth mid-year general membership assembly of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers- Central Region Saudi Arabia (PSME-CRSA) at a local hotel.
Al-Abassi also noted the Filipino engineers’ capacity for hard work and their ability to deal with their superiors and colleagues from other countries.
Al-Abassi noted that there are now 16,297 Filipino engineers and architects registered with the SCE and expressed his wish that the number would further increase.
Mario A. Balboa, chairman of the Philippine Council of Engineers and Architects (PCEA-KSA), also addressed the gathering and congratulated the PSME-CRSA chapter, headed by Rowell G. Somido as president.
“This assembly is an impressive achievement that will surely be recorded in your history books and that is something that you could be proud of. The theme of your celebration is an embodiment of the aspiration of Filipino civil engineers to become technically-capable and globally-recognized professionals,” he said.
“Your commitment to be at the forefront of the revolution to transform your organizations vision into reality is an already overwhelming achievement,” he said.
“The triumph of each general membership assembly is a testament to the camaraderie, team work and the steadfast will of Filipino professionals to sustain an international assembly that will put us a cut above the rest,” he said.
Both Al-Abassi and Balboa attended the assembly as guests of honor.
Filipino electronics engineers also had their mid-year general assembly on the same date.
