New Makkah health projects to cost SR3bn

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced a series of health projects in the Makkah region worth more than SR3 billion. Some of the hospitals and clinics are under construction, local media said.

Projects include the construction of a 500-bed hospital in northern Jeddah costing almost SR363 million.

The hospital is partially operational, while other works are under way. The project spans an area of 75,203 square meters. The project also includes out-patient clinics and kidney dialysis buildings.

Another building is also being constructed in the eastern part of Jeddah with a 300-bed capacity at a cost of SR310 million.

Other projects include the construction of a medical tower at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah. This project occupies an area of 5,000 square meters with a capacity of 270 beds and costing SR97.15 million.

The medical tower includes specialties such as cardiology (36 beds), neurosurgery (33 beds), nephrology and urology (23 beds), intensive care unit (eight beds), oral and maxillofacial surgery (36 beds) and ENT (42 beds), in addition to educational and lecture rooms with 170 seats.
