Indian professor commended for community work
Various cultural organizations including Pravasi and Jeddah Speakers Forum hosted farewell parties for Professor Raynold Ittoop, a prominent Indian academic and English instructor at King Abdul Aziz Univeristy to commend his services to the community.
Representatives of different organizations as well as several community leaders attended the send-off program organized by Pravasi cultural forum.
The speakers commended Raynold’s services to the Indian community in Jeddah and wished him every success in his future life and career. In his speech, Raynold, who was chairman of Pravasi, said all organizations should work for the progress of the community and promote human values. He emphasized the need to protect Indian democracy and work for enhancing the welfare and progress of all Indians.
Ismail Kallayi, convener of Pravasi, called upon all cultural organizations in the Kingdom and the Gulf to work together for the welfare of Indian expatriates and protect their legitimate rights.
Vice Chairman Shyam Govind presided over the function, while Shanawas Wandoor gave a vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, JSF President K.T. Aboobacker underscored Raynold’s role in strengthening the speakers’ forum and commended his efforts in promoting communal harmony. JSF members appreciated the professor’s efforts in giving them English lessons to improve their language capabilities.
