Saudi Prince Salman donates $2.6m for care of orphans

Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud donated $2.6m for the care of orphans.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, donated 10 million Saudi riyals (2.6m) to Insan Charitable Society for Orphans Care to help fund the organization’s activities.

The announcement of the donation came during a ceremony held by the society on Tuesday evening to honor the winners of the Holy Qur’an and Prophetic Teachings Competition.

Prince Ahmad Bin Fahd Bin Salman, president of Insan, honored the winners of competition.

Addressing the ceremony, the society’s Director General Saleh Bin Abdullah Al-Yousef commended Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for supporting the society since its inception.

Following the ceremony the prince signed a contract to establish the SR12 million Al-Nadwah endowment, whose proceeds will go to the society.
