Jarfuls of gold found

Baha-region

A treasure trove of gold has been found in the southern Baha region by a Yemeni bulldozer driver and it is believed to be the leftovers of Qarun, a rich man who lived during the time of Prophet Moosa (Moses).

Sabq.org, which reported the news on Sunday, said there was no official confirmation that the treasure belonged to Qarun. Social media websites carried a photo of three jars being exposed during digging and believed to be full of gold, the daily reported.

Official sources could not be reached.

Saudi bloggers questioned the report’s accuracy, asking how the gold of Qarun, who lived in Egypt, reached this southern Saudi region.
