Dubai ‘Angry Birds’ zone enthralls game lovers
DUBAI: Fans of the game Angry Birds will not have to go far to become birds themselves, thanks to the Angry Birds Universe, an interactive zone which opened at Modhesh World in the Dubai World Trade Center recently, Times of Oman reported.
Angry Birds Universe, which allows people to explore the art and science behind the popular game, was created especially for the Dubai Summer Surprises, in partnership with Rovio, the Finnish company that made the game, and Imagine Exhibitions. It will remain open for visitors until Sept. 8.
“The Rovio team is very excited to have our Angry Birds Universe exhibition premiere at Modhesh World in UAE. The Dubai World Trade Center has an excellent reputation for hosting world-class events, which makes it the perfect venue to bring our games, characters, and educational elements to life for the very first time in the UAE,” said Eric Lee, from the Location Based Entertainment for Rovio.
Fans of all ages will have the chance to “be the bird,” safely propelling on zip lines that knock over enormous foam structures, just like the Angry Birds games, in a unique, full-body demonstration of Angry Birds physics. They can also learn about educational concepts by trying to stop animation, music making, drawing, and learning about the biology of birds in nature.
Fans will also be introduced to the famous Angry Birds characters in an interactive adventure, with approximately 30 hands-on activities, including “bird-launching stations” that teach the principles of the seven simple machines, full-body experiences, scavenger hunt map-stamping stations, iPad gaming stations, and other opportunities for personal creativity and hands-on creation.
