England’s Joe Root goes to hit four runs off a ball bowled by India’s Ishant Sharma during the third day of the fifth test cricket match at Oval cricket ground in London.

LONDON: England hammered India by an innings and 244 runs to win the fifth and final Test at The Oval on Sunday and take the series 3-1.

It was the second time in as many matches, after their innings and 54-run win at Old Trafford, that England had beaten India inside three days.

India were bowled out for just 94 in a second innings that was wrapped up inside 30 overs on Sunday.

Earlier Joe Root’s unbeaten 149 powered England to a first innings total of 486 all out.
