Border Guards chief dies of heart attack
RIYADH – Border Guards Director General Lt. Gen. Zamim Al-Sawat died Tuesday morning following a massive heart attack, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Al-Sawat arrived at his office in the morning suffering from heavy fever. He fell unconscious later and was taken to Riyadh’s Security Forces Hospital where he died. He was buried at Al-Baqie graveyard in Madinah later in the day after funeral prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque.
His body was flown to Madinah aboard a special flight from Riyadh. Minister of Interior Prince Muhammad Bin Naif expressed sorrow over the death of Al-Sawat. In a condolence message to members of the force, the minister commended Al-Sawat for his sincerity and hard work. Prince Muhammad prayed Allah to rest his soul in peace and give patience to the bereaved family.
