PJF hosts Independence Day with patriotic fervor
JEDDAH — Like last year, this year too the Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) organized a splendid family gathering on the auspicious occasion of the 68th Independence Day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which was celebrated with patriotic fever at Lasani restaurant.
Aftab Ahmed Khokhar, Consul General of Pakistan, attended the occasion as the chief guest.
Assistant General Secretary (former Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arab) Mohammed Naeem Khan was the guest of honor.
Large number of Pakistani community men, women and children attended the function.
The program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur’an by the Pakistani presidential award holder, Mohammad Asif.
Naat was presented by veteran journalist and writer from Makkah and Taif Mohammed Amil Usmani.
Chairman PJF Amir Mohammed Khan welcomed guests and shed light on the aim and objects of the forum.
He extended special thanks to Khan for attending function and praised his excellent services which he rendered for the Pakistani expatriates during his tenure as the ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom.
Young playback singer Ali Qasim Naqvi and Amir Mohammed Khan entertained the audience with patriotic national songs.
Khokhar congratulated the audience on the 68th Independence Day. He said: “Pakistani expatriate in the Kingdom should live in a disciplined manner and work for the development of both the Kingdom and Pakistan.” The consul general presented Khan with a memento on behalf of PJF and other prominent community leaders including Masood Ahmad Poori, Kamran Butt, Syed Qasim Naqvi, Dr. Khalil ur-Rehman. Dr. Abdul Aleem Khan, Osama Mohammed Amil Usmani and others.
Gifts and prizes were given to winners of the quiz competitions. President PJF Shahid Naeem thanked all guests and sponsors.
Jamil Rathore, general secretary of PJF, conducted the proceedings. The function ended with the cake cutting and singing of the national song “Jiway Jiway Pakistan.”
