Saudi Services for Electro-Mechanic Works Co. Joint Stock (SSEM) conducted HSE Celebration for Best Projects Program to enhance a safety culture in Construction of Power and Water Project at Fine Grill banquet hall Saturday.

The was program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur’an by Mohammed Asif.

Ishtiaq Aziz Hashmi, who works as HSE Division Manager in SSEM aand has 20 years of QHSE Experience in Gulf, welcomed distinguished guests and staffs.

He shed lights on the SSEM projects and said SSEM works as a Grade 1 Company under Al-Rashid Group and deals with various type of project in the Kingdom, like OHPL, UG Cable (380, 132kv), Power Plants, Water Distribution Projects, Substation 380,132 kv Construction Projects, etc.

Currently, there are 33 ongoing projects in the Kingdom.

Gifts and shields were presented to projects to motivate the participants.

Hashmi said that his mission is to enhance safety culture by motivation, safety trainings, safety documentation, safety rules, and safety procedure. He has trained the Saudi Staff in safety fields and kept them in many projects such as safety officers and nurses. This project is being carried forward with the support of General Manager Omar A. Hamze.

SSEM HSE Audit was conducted by HSE and HR Team for 23 SSEM on-going Projects, and they selected three projects based on good Safety Culture in accord SSEM Safety Rules and Regulations.

The first position holder was KAIA 380kv Project with 95.2 points in HSE followed by Makkah-4 Bus-stand 132kv project with 95.1% points in HSE on the second position. The third position was bagged by Qassem-4 380kv Project and Al-Taif-2 380kv Projects with 92.2 points in HSE each.

Clients from KAIA, SEC and NGC from Qaseem, Al-Taif, Riyadh and Yanbu, Makkah and Jeddah attended the program.

The distinguished guest who attended the celebration were Hani Fallatah, Abdel Hasseb Masry, Riyad Al-Zhrane, Tawfiq Al-Rifqi, Umar Farooq, Faisal Al-Dhuaij, Ahmed Al-Huwati, Wisam Sinjab, Ikramullah Awan, Abdulaziz AL- Majed, Qari Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Saeed, and representative of Omar A. Taher (QA/QC & Safety Manger-SEC).

The SSEM Safety team members involved in this event were Mohammad Sajid Iqbal, Fawad Abdullah, Sajid Ali Walid, Ranjit Rajendran, Husanat Shah, Khalid Hafiz, Ummer Farooq, and Fahad Al-Taher.
