The Ministry of Civil Service said the Eid Al-Adha holiday for government employees will start on Friday, Sept. 26.

The Saudi Ministry of Civil Service said the Eid al-Adha holiday for government employees will start on Friday, Sept. 26. Abdulaziz Al-Khunain, the ministry’s spokesman, dismissed rumors that the holiday will start from Tuesday, Sept. 23, which is the National Day holiday.

According to Article 4 of the holiday regulations, when the Saudi National Day, which is celebrated on Sept. 23 every year, falls on a Tuesday and the Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha holiday begins on a Thursday, Wednesday becomes a public holiday.

Khunain clarified that even though the Saudi National Day this year is on Tuesday, the Eid holiday does not begin on Thursday and therefore Wednesday, Sept. 24, will be a working day.
