Saudi grand mufti warns youth against extremist ideology
Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh urged citizens, especially young men, not to listen to ‘instigators of sedition.’
He addressed Saudi youth by saying: “Any human being who incites you to hate or harm your country and your leaders does not wish you any good and wants to corrupt you.”
During his weekly show on Nida Al-Islam Radio, Sheikh talked about the 88 people, the majority of whom were Saudi, who were arrested in the kingdom on terrorism charges earlier this week.
He also expressed his sadness over how the young men, who had lived and enjoyed the security and stability of the kingdom, ended up listening to the enemies of Islam and the Muslim nation.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, issued a decree in February this year providing that Saudi nationals who fight abroad or who join terrorist groups face a term of imprisonment of up to 20 years.
