Rani Mukherjee is in Bhopal to inaugurate a four-day film fest.

BHOPAL : Actress Rani Mukherjee, who was in Bhopal on Friday, said that her fans love to see her in women-oriented movies like ‘Black’, ‘Veer Zara’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and now ‘Mardaani’.

Rani was in Bhopal to be a part of ‘Filmotsav’, a five-day film festival organized by the Madhya Pradesh IAS Officers’ Association at Ravindra Bhavan.

“I am an actor and do films to reach to people and if they want me to essay these kind of roles, I will. I am here because of my fans and they love to see me in women oriented films,” the actress told Hindustan Times.

“Be it ‘Raja Ki Aaegi Baraat’ through which I started my journey or ‘Mehndi’, every film is more than entertainment. It would not be an exaggeration if I say that women centric roles excite me always,” she further said.

“’Mardani’ has become very dear to me. I also relate to the character I play. I would ask every girl and woman to be strong and lead their lives fearlessly. It doesn’t matter what profession you are in, whether you are a journalist, a pilot, a police officer or a homemaker, you should always be brave and fearless.”

“I met many courageous women during the making of this film and still draw inspiration from them. They look after their families and our country with the same passion and love. It is incredible. Salute to them.”

“I am a very strong woman by myself and if I do a role that inspires a girl or a woman, it is an honor for me. I want every girl of this nation to be brave, strong and empowered,” she further added.
