Police arrested eight Bangladeshi men who were allegedly involved in 30 thefts of copper cables from electricity distribution chambers. The region’s police said police stations in Al-Malaz and Al-Batha received two separate reports from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) claiming 145 copper cables had been stolen from its electricity distribution chambers in the districts of Al-Safa, Jarir, Al-Malaz, Al-Mansourah, Thulaim, Al-Salehia and Al-Margab. Riyadh Police’s Criminal Investigations Department deployed undercover agents at various locations expected to be frequented by the thieves. They collected information and focused on the eight suspects, who were later arrested.
