Saif issued notice for anniversary party
MUMBAI: The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday issued notices to veteran Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore and her son Saif Ali Khan for organizing a party in Gurgaon without prior permission, an official said.
Former cricketer Mansour Ali Khan Pataudi’s wife Tagore and several others were issued notices for organizing a party to celebrate Khan and Kareena Kapoor-Khan’s wedding anniversary on the night of Oct. 15 at their palace in Pataudi, 26 km from Gurgaon city.
The event also continued on the night of Oct. 16. Fire crackers went off for several hours and loudspeakers blared.
“On the directions of Ajai Shankar Pandey, the election observer has issued notice for violating the model code of conduct. The sub-divisional magistrate-cum-returning officer of Pataudi has complained to the EC that loudspeakers were used without prior permission during the celebrations. A cocktail party was also organized,” official spokesperson R.S. Sangwan said.
