The Human Resources Department will organize the 6th edition of its Forum focusing on challenges facing the Saudi market and human resources under the aegis of the Labor Minister Adel Fakeih at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah from Nov. 16-19.

Dr. Ihab Abu Rukbeh, head of the forum, said that the main topic of the annual forum will be the challenges facing the private sector while implementing Saudization. He told Arab News that the forum will include 8 work sessions, 25 scientific papers and 11 workshops. The forum will for the first time, include a scientific workshop and specialized workshops on “Preparing guidelines and policies on human resources.”

A number of elite Human Resources managers and their assistants, as well as hiring managers, administrative managers and institutional behavior specialists will be in attendance to discuss the most recent methods of developing their work.

The largest annual forum on human resources is organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the office of Dr. Ihab Abu Rukbeh (AME) with a strategic partnership with the Labor Ministry and the Human Resources Development Fund.

One of the conference’s main workshops will be chaired by Dr. Mustafa Al-Moumari, human resources and quality consultant. Dr. Al-Moumari will discuss the strategic value and importance of managing human resources and elaborate further on this concept. He will also tackle the issue of preparing policies and procedures for human resources management and the basic requirements for procedures’ documentation and control as well as human resources planning.

The workshop’s agenda also includes a discussion on the analysis and design of jobs, career track development, jobs evaluation, setting wages and incentives as well as training, performance evaluation, contracts termination, employees’ relations and welfare.

The forum addresses several issues, including the Ministry of Labor initiatives, future orientations and their impact on the business sector. The organizers confirmed the importance of assessing the labor market’s performance in light of the new legislations and regulations as well as reviewing the commitment of these new rules and the challenges facing parties wanting to implement them.

The attendants from several sectors will also give different viewpoints about the implementation process as well as the human resources needs to keep in line with the governmental legislations and orientations in the Saudi labor market. Another topic under discussion will be the application of initiatives and support available in the Saudi labor market, the issue of wages in private sector enterprises and women employment regulations.

In the past five editions, the Jeddah Human Resources forum emphasized the strategic partnership between the public and private sector, and has achieved leading milestones since its inception in 2008.
