Gifted Saudi students represent their country in international contests.

The Riyadh-based King Abdul Aziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) will launch personal skills development programs in major cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

According to an expert in this field, the Saudi education process faces many challenges in terms of quality when students travel abroad for higher education.

The six-week program, being organized by the Enrichment Programs Initiative (EPI) at Mawhiba, aims to develop the personal and leadership skills of talented students, while enabling them to develop their social skills and communication skills creatively.

The program also aims to raise self-confidence levels and promote a spirit of initiative and ability to interact with others.

This will also provide incentive training for Saudi gifted students prior to their participation in various international competitions.

Some 360 students, split evenly between boys and girls, will participate in the program to be held in selected partner schools in the three cities.

The program will address these challenges and opportunities arising in the wake of development at all levels in the Kingdom. The program has been designed with a strategic vision to create an iconic and integrated knowledge-based society commensurate with the goals of the Mawhiba. The source said participants must meet several criteria, including outstanding performance in their respective schools based on Mawhiba specifications.

Mawhiba plays a major role in the transformation of the country into a value-added and knowledge-based economy, with special focus on knowledge, production and investment in intellectual capital within the kingdom.
