The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Scholarship Affairs, Nasser Al-Fawzan, recently announced the nomination of 10,491 scholars of both sexes who have met the acceptance conditions to the 10th class of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Scholarship Program.

The Ministry of Higher Education approved five new universities specializing in fashion, information engineering, and architecture in France, a military college in Turkey and a government university in Germany, while five other universities in the US and Jordan were rejected.

The group of accepted scholars, which is the largest number since the establishment of the program, includes 627 Ph.D. candidates, 1,397 medical fellows, 6,741 master’s degree candidates, and 1,726 bachelor’s degree candidates in medical sciences.

Al-Fawzan said medical specialties had the highest rate of accepted students (37.40 percent), followed by engineering and computer sciences (22.20 percent), finance and economics (17.07 percent), basic sciences (12.36 percent), digital media, tourism, hospitality, and clinical psychology (5.51 percent), and law (5.45 percent).

According to Al-Fawzan, upon completion of all procedures, the accepted male and female candidates will be directed to the best and highly-ranked 200 universities based on their specialties.
