Morocco disqualified from 2015 African Cup
Morocco has been disqualified from the 2015 African Cup of Nations after refusing to host the tournament because of Ebola, and a new host country will be chosen.
The Confederation of African Football says it has received “some applications” from possible replacement hosts. CAF didn’t announce who the candidates were.
CAF refused Morocco’s request to postpone the African Cup until 2016 because of fears over the spread of Ebola, which has killed about 5,000 people in West Africa.
CAF also says it will decide on further punishments for Morocco for breaching its contractual obligations as host.
