Technology helps investigation bureau process petitions faster
Riyadh Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz said the Kingdom is proud to provide security and justice in accordance with the principles of civilized behavior.
During a meeting with members of the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) on Tuesday, Prince Turki praised the bureau’s performance since its inception saying that it seeks to establish competent organs for providing security and justice in all parts of the country.
He said the BIP works to preserve human rights and dignity. Its rules are derived from and based on the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The meeting was attended by BIP chief Mohammed Fahad Al-Abdullah who affirmed the significant developments in the BIP, including the adoption of modern technology which had helped in accelerating the processing of petitions submitted to the bureau.
Al-Abdullah stressed that the number of BIP’s achievements has doubled in seven years. He added that the BIP was assured full cooperation of all state agencies which would enhance its functions including upholding human rights and monitoring prisons.
The official reaffirmed that the BIP’s functions are related to the investigation, prosecution and oversight of prisons.
He said that the BIP also conducted training and rehabilitation for its employees. “We carried out 90 training sessions and participated in local and international conferences with the aim of increasing our capacity and gaining expertise,” he said.
