Jubail Industrial College obtains international accreditation
Jubail Industrial College (JIC) has been awarded international recognition by the US-based Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for Engineering and Technical majors offered by the college for a duration of six years. This is the maximum period granted by ABET to institutions that have been awarded the educational recognition for the first time.
During the celebration ceremony, Dr. Adel bin Salem Bahakeem, managing director of JIC, thanked all members of the committee and said that the recognition was earned after a number of tours and field visits by experts from the Accreditation Council panel in the last few years.
“The experts examined all procedures, regulations, scientific content, equipment, and methods used in the college during the education process or the engineering and technical training to ensure that they comply with the standards of the ABET,” Bahakeem said.
Administration and Information Technology majors in the college also received full recognition of their discipline from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in the United States.
