Emergency teams of Taif Civil Defense rescued 15 people stranded inside their vehicles in Al-Muntazh neighborhood because of heavy rain.

He added that Al-Karr road was closed. Meanwhile, the Al-Baha area experienced heavy rain causing a number of rock slides.

Civil Defense received reports about families being stranded in Biljarashi, Al-Aqaba, which was closed as a precautionary measure after the rock slides. They rescued an elderly woman caught in the flood who was later transported to the Red Crescent for her onward transportation to Biljarashi public hospital.

Aqabat Hizna witnessed heavy presence of Civil Defense teams and security patrols; however, rescue vehicles and equipment did not reportedly reach the stranded people because of rock slides and the closure of Al-Aqaba.

Spokesman for civil defense in Al-Baha Col. Juman Al-Ghamidi said the control and command center received calls about a family stranded in Aqabat Hizna. Rescue teams, which were immediately dispatched to the location, found three persons stranded.

A young member of the rescued family said his aunt was missing in the flash flood. She was later found in stable condition in a valley.

The woman was taken by a security patrol car and delivered to the Red Crescent because of the extreme weather conditions and rough terrain of the area. He confirmed that safety patrols remain posted in all vulnerable areas to warn the citizens and residents.

Spokesman for the Red Crescent in Al-Baha, Imad Al-Zaharani said two rescue teams were dispatched to a location where a man was stranded in Aqabat Hizna.
