Saudi Pavilion hosts 100 firms at The Big 5 exhibition in Dubai
Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) President Abdulrahman Al-Zamil opened Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at The Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, which kicked off Monday and will continue till Thursday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports), through its participation in the exhibition in the presence of around 100 manufacturers from the Saudi private sector, seeks to promote Saudi building, construction and infrastructure industries internationally supported by the quality and diversification of these industries.
This forms part of the Kingdom’s strategy to diversify its sources of revenue and boost the development of industries nationwide, according to Ahmed Alhaqbani, secretary general of Saudi Exports.
Alhaqbani added that the government, headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, is focused on expanding Saudi exports internationally through a dynamic strategy. This will also develop the industrial and commercial sector and strengthen collaboration with the private sector.
Saudi products have earned credit for their quality and diversification, thus enabling them to compete internationally, especially on the GCC level.
In addition, the prevalence of low shipping costs and customized products is in tune with the preferences of the regional consumer.
Saudi Exports is promoting the Kingdom’s products in different countries, according to Alhaqbani. He added: “We have enough human resources as well as systems in place to take our products to the whole world.”
The Kingdom’s participation in this exhibition is part of a strategy aimed at increasing nonoil exports and boost exports from Saudi Arabia to the regional construction sector.
Alhaqbani said the authority is participating in international construction exhibitions to showcase the quality of Saudi products and the competitiveness among their foreign counterparts.
Through its second participation in The Big 5, Saudi Exports is keen to explore new external markets. We anticipate new partnerships and deals to be signed during the exhibition.”
Saudi companies are keen to be part of The Big 5 because the Arab and GCC construction sector holds great potential for Saudi industries that produce building products such as glass, insulating materials, cement, marble, ceramics, doors, iron, granite, brick, stone paving roads, wood and tiles.
