Govt starts single sign-on system for electronic services
The Ministry of Labor, in collaboration with the National Information Center, has launched the “Single Sign-On” system — an initiative that offers electronic services for customers wishing to access various government online portals, without being prompted to log in separately for each of the services.
The first phase of the initiative includes 6 services: Requests to transfer service, approvals of requests, reporting absences, cancelling absence reports, organisation of permanent exit permits, and the cancelation of visas.
The initiative is intended to contribute to the ministry’s recent efforts to develop the electronic technology used in their programs in order better help citizens and residents with their requests.
The new step emphasises the principles of credibility and transparency that are upheld within the ministry, even when human intervention is not necessitated, in order to limit fraud and errors and to realize the ministry’s automation strategy, which seeks to ensure that 92 percent of its services are provided electronically.
