Asir police have arrested a man who drove a car jam-packed with young students, some of them loaded on the trunk of the vehicle.

Col. Mohammed bin Sayed Al-Asiri, Asir police spokesperson, said the unnamed driver was traced via a video clip uploaded on social network.

Al-Asiri said the man was found to have made it an occupation to bring students to and from school in Bisha town in Asir region.

He said the man was arrested for putting the lives of students in danger, aside from violating traffic rules and regulations. Overloading alone is a traffic violation.

Traffic police slapped a 48-hour driving ban on the driver and impounded his car for 10 days, Al-Asiri said.

He stressed that putting children in the open trunk of a moving vehicle is very dangerous especially to children.
