New Asir ambulance centers to be opened
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority is set to open seven ambulance centers in Asir with new vehicles and equipment on Sunday.
Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, head of the Saudi Red Crescent, said here recently that it would be opened in Aqabat Dhela, Aqabat Shaar, Al-Harja, Bariq, Samkh, Al-Sbaikha and Al-Amwah. This would bring the number of centers in the region to 29.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, spokesman of the Red Crescent in Asir, said that the region’s operations room dealt with 28,000 reports over the past year. This translated into 28,215 cases of injury, and the transfer of 17,016 people to various hospitals in Asir.
There were over 6,500 cases of traffic accidents, and 568 cases of people injured during physical fights. The operations room also dealt with 653 cases of heart disease, 604 cases of diabetes, 1,175 cases of digestive ailments and 248 obstetrics and gynecology cases, including 22 births inside ambulances, and 1,646 cases of people with neurological and psychological illnesses.
