No place for extremists ‘masked as intellectuals’
Minister of Education Prince Khaled Al-Faisal praised the Kingdom’s ability to establish a modern state system that is based on Islam. He was speaking at a ceremony held at the Prince Fahd bin Sultan University to honor students for scientific achievements. Prince Khaled also talked about development in the region and current affairs.
“If we look at the current scene, we will see the development of conflict between the West and the East for places of control, which I mentioned 16 years ago. We managed to continue with our development despite conflicts in other countries,” the prince said.
The minister also pointed out the need to identify and act against extremists who are disguised as bona fide figures. “In light of current regional and international challenges masked by destructive intellectual and political currents, we warn dreamers who aspire to expand outside their borders, and who envy us for our stable life,” he added.
Prince Khaled sent a message to the Saudi people, especially the youth, to stand together and face anyone who threatens to destabilize society. During the ceremony, Prince Fahd bin Sultan named the winners of the outstanding scientific award Al-Dalwah, saying this expresses solidarity of the Saudi people in the face of the horrible crime that wasted the lives of sons of Al-Dalwah village in Al-Ahsa.
Prince Khaled launched a number of projects in Tabuk and laid the corner stone for other educational projects, while reviewing the work in current plans, which cost more than SR700 million.
