Indian school expo displays students’ skills

Asia Hamid Rao, wife of Indian envoy, center, opens the IISR exhibition in Riyadh.

Students of the International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR), Girl’s Section, organized an exhibition recently in the capital city to showcase their skills and products.

Indian ambassador’s wife, Asia Hamid Rao, inaugurated the event that drew huge crowds from the Indian community, notably parents of the students and other local guests.

Rao said the students putting into practice the skills that they have learned in their text books is very important for their learning process. The event she said was the first of its kind and caliber to be organized by the school in its history.

School’s principal, Shaukat Parvez, said that this event is a source of motivation for the students, adding that it has the potential to unlock hidden talents among them. Asma Shah, the IISR vice principal, said that team work has been the basis for the development of this event so much so that the students are considering expanding it in future years.
