Saudi Arabian Airlines will use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to operate its Manila flights from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) will operate 11 flights weekly to the Philippine capital Manila from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam using Boeing 777-300ER to meet the needs of growing passenger traffic between the two countries, said a senior Saudia official.

“The new aircraft, which is one of best available in the world, offers 413 seats including 30 for business class,” said Abdullah Al-Ajhar, executive vice president for public relations, adding that it would enhance comfort of passengers.

The aircraft’s business class seat is wide and flexible and can be converted into a complete bed for sleeping. Business class passengers will also be able to enjoy audiovisual entertainment programs on 15-inch individual screens.

The aircraft offers 383 seats for economy class passengers, who can also enjoy inflight audiovisual programs on individual screens with a width of nine inches, Al-Ajhar said.

This advanced aircraft was introduced on the route as part of the airline’s efforts to improve customer services, he added.

Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, director general of Saudia, recently inaugurated the airline’s new state-of-the-art office in Manila in the presence of senior Saudi and Philippine officials, including Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi, CEO of Saudi Airlines Company.

During that event, Saudia officials stressed the airline’s plan to activate the Dammam-Manila air link this month using a B777-300ER aircraft, thus increasing seat capacity by 30 percent.

“The Manila station is very important for us and we are committed to providing high standards of services to our customers in the Philippines,” said Al-Jasser.

He said Saudia has decided to upgrade its services in Manila considering the growing relations between the two countries.

Al-Hazmi said that the new Saudia office is located on the 19th floor of Zuelllig building on Makati Avenue, which is situated in the center of an important business district in Manila.
