Ministry tells evening schools to follow rules
The Ministry of Education has issued new regulations to organize the examination system in private evening schools, including punitive procedures for irregularities in correcting examination papers.
The ministry’s move aims to curb violations in some private evening schools which award students with certifications without applying the educational criteria to be used while correcting their examination papers. The ministry has warned that it will withdraw the exam papers of students found to be in violation of the exam procedures and have them corrected by the ministry.
The Education Ministry further noted that some private evening schools ask for high tuition and promise students a good grade in return. This violation leads to many students preferring to register in these schools to pass their exams without making any real effort.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Education, Fahd Al-Harthy, said: “The ministry has issued a special regulation to streamline examination procedures in all public and private evening schools. The education departments will organize, monitor and correct examination papers according to the specific standards, in order to improve and promote discipline.”
He added that the new regulation will improve the quality of education in these schools and their academic output.
