Saudi Arabia announced Tuesday that it has given SR225 million to support the budget of the Palestinian Authority (PA) over the past three months.
“The Saudi Fund for Development has transferred the amount to the account of the Palestinian Finance Ministry,” said Saudi Ambassador to Cairo Ahmed Qattan.
Qattan, who is the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the Arab League, said the amount represented the Kingdom’s monthly contribution (SR75 million each) to the PA’s budget for October, November and December 2014.
He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s continuous support for the Palestinian cause at all forums. “Since January 2013, the Kingdom has increased its share to the PA’s monthly budget from $14 million (SR52.5 million) to $20 million (SR75 million),” he said.
