33 courts to be built in Riyadh region
Minister of Justice, Mohammed Al-Isa inked a contract worth SR870.8 million this week here with a local company for the construction of 33 courts in the Riyadh region.
A source from the ministry said that the project, designed to build judicial branches in the capital, is the fourth in a series of contracts being awarded by the ministry recently.
“This is part of MoJ’s ambitious plan to cover all cities and provinces with state-of-the-art buildings to meet the modern environmental requirements,” a statement by the ministry said.
Earlier, MoJ signed three similar agreements for the construction of 22 criminal courts near jails in several areas, depending on the availability of land.
A deal to construct various court buildings in the Eastern Province was also signed. A similar contract was concluded to build courts in Madinah. The total value of the contract is currently nearly SR2,850 billion.
Meanwhile, MoJ recently received two global ISO certifications (ISO27001) in information security and (ISO20000) in IT services systems for King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz University for MoJ’s facilities’ improvement on the IT risk management and information security policy and staff security and safety of the work environment.
The project also includes security of property, managing contracts and operations and access to places and information and incident management, in addition to continuity of work readiness and security control management.
“The Ministry of Justice is one of the top government agencies in the Middle East and the first in the Kingdom to obtain ISO certification in accordance with the new standards,” CEO of the Debts Free Company noted.
He said that these certificates have been granted to MoJ for implementing international standards for information and technical management systems.
“We have found that the ministry relies on highly advanced global standards in the establishment of the information center in terms of design and performance,” he added.
