New images apparently shot in Syria has been released that appears to show the moment ISIS militants threw a man off the top of a tower block and then stoned him to death amid allegations that he was homosexual, the Daily Mail has reported.
Images and video footage appear to show the man, thought to be in his 50s, blindfolded and sitting on a white plastic chair, with two masked militants by his side at the top of a seven-storey building in the Syrian town of Tal Abyad in Raqqa.
A judgement was then read out against the man for having a “homosexual affair” before he was thrown from the building, the newspaper added, citing the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Another image then appears to show the man plummeting head first to the ground below him. But he appears to survive and a crowd circles around him and stoned him until he fell unconscious.
This shocking series of images is the latest in a string of similar executions carried out by ISIS against men accused of homosexuality.
In January two other men were thrown from a tower block, and two others crucified in public executions, the newspaper added. Acts of blasphemy against Islam are punishable by death.
The militants released a document in December via social media outlining its penal code and the punishments dished out – which include floggings for drinking alcohol and the cutting off of hands of thieves.
According to the report, men and young boys are expected to watch the punishments.
