The Saudi Organization for Certified Legal Accountants has announced a new system to verify the authenticity of academic and professional certificates given by peers.

According to Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Moghames, the organization’s secretary-general, an agreement has been signed with Data Flow Company, an auditing international company.

The reason behind this, Al-Moghames told local media, is to verify the validity of any document submitted to the Saudi organization, which is also cooperating with several government agencies to reduce the use of counterfeit certificates.

The validation system will take effect next week and applicants will be required to contact Data Flow Company directly to verify their documents.

The organization will then be notified about the outcome of the process and will take necessary action against those who submit fake certificates.

“The number of associate members in the organization stands now at 4,000, while the number of recipients of its fellowship certificate is almost 550,” Al-Moghames said.
