UAE F-16 jets based in Jordan attacked oil refineries under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militant group, the country’s official state news agency WAM reported.

The jets, which took off from an airbase in Jordan, returned back to their stations safely, the agency added, without specifying where the targets were located.

These sorties follow earlier strikes conducted by the Emirati air force on Feb.10 and 1 after it suspended its military operations in Syria following the killing of a Jordanian pilot by ISIS militants.
