U.S. officials have expressed concern that Iraq’s Shiite-led government has not done enough to accommodate its alienated Sunni population.

President Barack Obama plans to host Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Abadi at the White House next month to discuss their fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The White House announced Monday that Abadi would visit on April 14. The White House says the two leaders also will discuss political reconciliation in Iraq and their countries’ post-war partnership.

U.S. officials have expressed concern that Iraq’s Shiite-led government has not done enough to accommodate its alienated Sunni population, which helped fuel ISIS’ push into the country.

The White House also says Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit the White House and be the guest of honor at a State Dinner on April 28.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will also make a state visit to the U.S. later this year.
