Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) President Prince Sultan bin Salman said, “The Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice is corner stone of our faith as the Kingdom has distinction of being the cradle of Islam.”

The SCTA president made this remark during a meeting with Abdul Rahman Al-Sanad, the head of Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia, in Arabic), at his SCTA office here in the capital city.

“The Kingdom is distinguished as the cradle of Islam, the home of the Two Holy Mosques and the land of successive civilizations that were ultimately crowned by the message of Islam, which is considered as an exceptional feature, not just a singularity, as some people assume,” Prince Sultan said.

“Our meetings with our partners in Haia are persistent and we are keen to maintain cooperation efforts with them as our country is based on the Islamic faith and the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice is the corner stone of our faith,” he added.

He maintained that Haia is an important organization and is interested to work with us for the citizen to enjoy the beauty of his country.

Notably, during the meeting they signed a complementary agreement of cooperation to increase cooperation efforts between the two organizations in a way that serves the domestic tourism under the “comprehensive development of the tourism and cultural heritage” program of SCTA.

The SCTA chief also urged the citizen to stay in the homeland as according to him, it is in the national interest and a joint responsibility for which the public departments and the local communities are working together in order to allow the citizen to closely know such an exceptional homeland, which enjoys “exceptional feature” as the land of deep rooted Islamic values.”

He also appreciated the special relationship between SCTA and CPVPV as well as the great coordination efforts between the two parties since the inception of the tourism commission.

He further underlined that tourism commission’s priority is to create the proper environment for the collective family to enjoy tourism across the Kingdom, introduce them to their homeland and its cultural depth which is shown in its Islamic historic sites.

“Haia is a key partners in the preparation of such an environment,” he added.

“Domestic tourism is witnessing remarkable growth across the Kingdom, which requires focusing on uplifting the levels of cooperation between the two organizations in order to convince the citizens to select their homeland as their first choice for their vacations,” SCTA chief said.

Commenting on the cooperation, the Haia chief said, “the joint cooperation for the success of the domestic tourism and introducing Saudi citizens to their history to enjoy their homeland through tourism trips are within religious objectives for which Haia works and stands.”

“SCTA’s efforts for linking the citizen to his country, and thus enhancing his national belonging, is not only a national and economic duty, rather it is also a religious duty,” Al-Sanad added.
