Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, who has been listed by the Time magazine among the world’s top 11 influential leaders, held talks in Riyadh on Thursday with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on major developments in the region, especially the progress of Operation Decisive Storm.

King Hamad commended King Salman for taking important initiatives “that have saved the region from many dangers.” The Bahraini king said: “I am very happy to visit Saudi Arabia again to meet our brother King Salman. With this visit we intend to strengthen our historic relations with Saudi Arabia.”

King Hamad reiterated the two GCC neighbors’ desire to increase their cooperation in various sectors and promote coordination in different fields.

“Our meeting with King Salman would be a great opportunity to exchange views and ideas on the new developments in the region. This is essential for confronting the various threats and challenges facing the two countries and reinforce their security and stability,” King Hamad said.

King Salman was listed among the 100 most influential people by the Time on the basis of an article written by King Abdallah of Jordan. “Few heads of state have the history and tradition of statesmanship that His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman holds today,” Abdallah said.

“King Salman carries with him the best traditions of leadership and stands uniquely qualified to lead the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia toward the future.

“His Majesty has worked, since an early age, alongside most of the kings of Saudi Arabia in building his country, and is personally credited with building its capital, Riyadh, into a modern global city,” the Jordan king said in his article.

“King Salman’s dedication to the service and defense of our faith is something he holds at the heart of his duties toward the Muslim nation,” King Abdallah said.

“Today this man of principle brings his vast experience and deep wisdom, at a critical point in history, to chart the course forward, not only for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people but also for our region and the world,” he added.
