Several new ambassadors presented their credentials to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Wednesday.

Wishing the ambassadors a pleasant stay in the Kingdom, King Salman said the country was proud to continue its friendship with their countries.

Those in attendance included Crown Prince Muqrin, deputy premier; Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior; Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah, deputy minister of foreign affairs; and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, minister of defense.

The ambassadors included Denmark’s Ole Frijs-Madsen, Bangladesh’s Golam Moshi, Qatar’s Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Al-Thani, Kyrgyzstan’s Abdullatif Jumabayev, the Czech Republic’s Yerji Slavic, Belgium’s Gert Krell and Norway’s Rolf Willy Hansen.

The others were Georgia’s Giorgi Janjgava, Ireland’s Joseph Anthony Cotter, Switzerland’s Heinrich Schellenberg, Hungary’s Ferenc Csillag, Ghana’s Haji Saeed Sinari, Tajikistan’s Sharipov Azamshah, Tunisia’s Lotfi bin Kaid, Ukraine’s Vadim Vakhrushev, Pakistan’s Manzour Al-Haq, Albania’s Sami Chiba, the United Kingdom’s Simon Paul Collis, Slovenia’s Tatiana Mishkova (non-resident), Belarus’ Roman Golovchenko (non-resident), Australia’s Ralph King, and Japan’s Norihiro Okuda.

Speaking on behalf of the ambassadors, Frijs-Madsen said the event was important because it “reflects the important ties that our countries have with the Kingdom.”

He also praised the Kingdom for its focus on education. “Young Saudi women and men are being educated in the Kingdom and abroad to become world citizens with proud roots and responsibilities in their country. The best resource of any country is its people and the ambitious education plans Your Majesty is providing for the Saudi youthsis clearly reflected by this.”

He told the king that the envoys appreciated the opportunity to meet with the country’s top leadership and other officials who are “shaping the future of the Kingdom as well as its international relations with our respective countries and governments.”

“As diplomats, we are the bridges between Saudi Arabia and our capitals. Bridges connect people and countries and allow new ideas and concepts to be exchanged and discussed. We look forward to fulfilling our trusted duty in this beautiful country in the years to come.”

“Your Majesty, we will in our future endeavors as ambassadors to the Kingdom pursue our role with integrity, respect and professionalism as would be expected of us by our governments. We are confident that we will be met in the same manner by our distinguished hosts in the Kingdom …”
