Nationals eligible for housing have the option to choose units through the designated website, but will have to wait until what they want is ready, the Ministry of Housing has said.

“The distribution of houses is based on what is available and the number of points presented, and not on the date of application,” the ministry clarified in a statement.

Different forms of residential products are available, including land and loans, besides ready residential units in Riyadh, Hail, Qassim, Jazan and Madinah.

Elaborating on the choice, the ministry said that if the applicant has a specific residential product in mind and in the city he resides, he will not be forced to accept what he has been offered, but goes on the waiting list until he gets the unit of his choice.

Meanwhile, the ministry is on the verge of distributing more than 13,000 units that are almost complete. Water networks, sewage, electricity and pavements should be ready soon, it said.

About apartments that are being developed in partnership with the private sector, the ministry will not force families if they don’t want them.

The ministry said it is ensuring that houses meet the set standards and conform to rules pertaining to areas of houses.
