One month bonus for military personnel

King Salman

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Wednesday ordered the distribution of a month’s salary for all employees in the military and security sectors, including civilians.

The royal bonus comes a week after the Kingdom announced the successful completion of Operation Decisive Storm, which was launched to crush the Houthi militia that created havoc in Yemen and threatened the Kingdom’s security.

The military forces, the National Guard, security agencies and border guards will receive the bonus, which comes as a token of appreciation from the Saudi leadership to their efforts to defend the Kingdom’s security and stability.

“This one-month salary bonus comes at the right time,” said political analyst Badr Almotawa. “Saudi Arabia has mobilized its military and security forces to defend the Kingdom from possible Houthi attacks,” he told Arab News.

“This additional salary will be a kind of consolation for families of military and security officers who have been deployed along the Kingdom’s border with Yemen to fight the Houthi militia,” Almotawa said.

He said the Saudi-led Operation Decisive Storm was a big success as it helped Saudi Arabia to show its military strength and its ability to confront challenges. “Our military forces have played a successful role in the past in the liberation of Kuwait and safeguarding the security and stability of Bahrain,” he added.
